In the Beginning
Going into this company none of us realized what “being green” even was. In just a few months we found out quick! A local government office was notified by a family member who saw our potential as a green company. A short time later TXLC was visited by an official from that office. By the end of the visit the man was ecstatic. In his line of work rarely did he encounter a company such as ours. By the end of that day TXLC had been dubbed an officially 100% green company.
How did we do it?
TXLC fell into green rather easily. All of its products are produced with heat and pressure. Pressure is easy enough to produce with simple leavers, while heat only required electricity. With those two components TXLC was able to produce images on tile and tile products without creating carbon emissions. In addition to freeing up carbon credits, TXLC began reusing the boxes received during tile shipments. Paper that was used during the sublimation process was shredded and re-used as packing material. Even broken and problem tiles that didn’t make acceptable murals and tile products were busted up and shipped to an artist who used them for mosaics. In an effort to cut down on costs for a young company, TXLC managed to make that much less of an ecological impact.
Donations, Charity and Volunteers
At TXLC we are major animal lovers. Each of us has adopted at least one, if not more, animals from a shelter. Currently we are asking people to go to our links page and visit some of the links that can be found there. You may find a link to an organization in your area that you would like to help sponsor.
